Biography
Reminiscent of a classic black and white french film, Ludovic Alarie's soundscape is populated with quirky characters willing to endure pretty much anything to keep love close and protected.
The ten song self-titled album, to be released April 1st 2014 through Indica Records, will force you into introspection. Brilliantly produced by Warren C. Spicer (Plants and Animals) and vocally supported by Adèle Trottier-Rivard, the album opens a window to a sombre, fragile universe. The music, sometimes jazz tinged, sometimes french 50's inspired is punctuated by a bit of brass, strings, wood and beautiful harmonies (including the vocal of Patrick Watson on the song Rester Muet)
With poetic lyrics softly delivered by Alarie, the humble, yet passionate songs unfold a world of light and darkness which marks the ear as well as the imagination.
Since the release of his debut album in 2014, Ludovic Alarie has been enjoying praise and hype from both industry and press. The success has already landed the young artists a nomination at the ADISQ gala, for the prestigious Félix-Leclerc Prize.
Following signing with the Guerette Agency, the singer-songwriter has toured extensively across Quebec, taking part in events like FrancoFolies de Montréal, EMF, Rideau, and the OFF festival, in addition to supporting acts like: The Barr Brothers, Philippe B and Arthur H, the latter of which Ludo will be touring Quebec with in February 2015.
