Friday may be the beginning of the end for America, but our neighbors to the north don’t seem too be too upset—the Canadian independent music scene is thriving with dozens of new and upcoming releases.

A melancholia of indie-pop. Montreal-based Le Trouble gets it right with Easy Enough, a song that both glows and reflects.

Michael has mentioned being influenced by the likes of David Bowie, but I must say, his moves are of the calibre to make Mick Jagger envious. Regardless of influence, their love affair with music is clear and their passion is palpable. [...] House of Targ hosted many bands this weekend, and Le Trouble made for an excellent closer.

The show was one to remember as the band gave it their all with their infectious energy and slick dance moves.

“How Was I to Know?” comes off their first LP, Making Matters Worse released early this month via Indica Records. The track has a guitar melody reminiscent of The Strokes circa Is This It with the energy of Ra Ra Ra Riot.

The 11 cuts off the album traverse a range of musical genres, from upbeat pop punk to gritty driving rock (with sometimes lacerating lyrics) and more introspective ruminations, all while being tied together by the band’s captivating melodies, vocal harmonies, and tight instrumentation.

“How Was I To Know” is the super groovy single and opening track from Montreal’s LeTrouble‘s just released album “Making Matters Worse”. It’s a cracker of an album opener with The Strokes like guitars and swagger.

Montreal band Le Trouble have added more dates to their Canadian tour to support their upcoming LP Making Matters Worse.
