After conquering the hearts of a large crowd at L'Astral earlier this year during the Montréal en Lumière festival, Colin Moore will hit the road once again, guitar and harmonica in the trunk and his band mates - Ryan Battistuzzi (guitar), Vincent Peake (bass) and Dustin Moores (drums) - in the back seat.

Enregistré à Montréal, puis mixé dans le Grosse Pomme, l’album est imprégné de New York, où Xavier a posé ses pénates dans les quartiers généraux de Gus Van Go (The Stills, Les Trois Accords, Priestess, Vulgaires Machins) pour raviver ses élans bien ancrés dans le punk rock de la première heure.

Montreal, March 26th 2013 – Author-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cafeïne is ready to launch his latest opus New Love. Recorded and mixed by Gus Van Go (The Stills, Priestess, etc.) in Montreal and New York, the album revives the songwriter’s punk and pop influences.

Good news for all of the Kim Churchill fans out there, the young artist will be embarking on a tour across Northern America as the supporting act for the one and only Billy Bragg! Shows will begin towards the end of March and end with a show at Club Soda in Montreal on May 5th. In the middle of this tour Kim will be taking a short break to head back to Australia to play the Byron Bay Bluesfest and then on to Quebec to headline two shows (Apr 23rd at Café-Culturel de la Chasse-Galerie in Lavaltrie, and Apr 24th in Sherbrooke at Théâtre Granada).

THE LOODIES launched onto the Montreal music scene last September with their debut album EDGY GROUND. Their music complements gorgeous acoustic guitar melodies with delicate vocals, keys, electric guitar and bass, brass instrumentals and drums for a contemporary orchestral feel that is immense and introspective at the same time. At barely 19 years old, the young quintent are now getting ready for their first European tour where they will do 12 dates in Germany. THE LOODIES also announced they will be the opening for Plants and Animals in Ottawa on February 16th and will be performing at the Under the Snow Festival in Montreal on March 7th at Sala Rossa.

I'm going to be cheeky here and pick one band and one solo artist. The band is Montreal's Half Moon Run - potentially one of the most important bands debuting an album this year. It's progressive without being pretentious.
